Gustaf's sausage bread recipe

You can go out and eat and you can go out and eat.

Ingredients (14 loaves)

  • 5dl wheat flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 50g butter
  • 3dl water

How to make them

The easiest way is to use a mixer with the knife mounted to mix all ingredients, but of course you can mix by hand as well. One tip is to boil the water before mixing it in, so the dough will be easier to work with, but you should probably avoid it if you do not use mixer to mix everything.

When everything is mixed and the dough feels smooth and nice, just divide it into as many pieces as you need to make the number of breads. Make sure to work with a lot of flour and a well-milled table and then roll out all the parts into nice little pancakes. Two things to think about here: 1 The dough is quite sticky so turn the rolled out bread into flour as well as use butter paper between them so they do not stick together. 2 To prevent the dough from drying, store the pre-cooked breads in a sachet or similar that holds tightly.

Once out in the field, just toss them on the grid. I also usually bring some small metal box or similar to store them in when they are finished (if they are not able to eat before then) so they stay warm and soft a little longer.
