At Vätterns southeastern shore lies Gränna, a prototypical Swedish idyll with beautiful wooden houses, gardens and cobblestone streets. For nature lovers, the surroundings are a paradise of nature reserves, great hiking and beautiful scenery.
There are also lots of memories of past glory periods. Castle ruins and castles in the area testify to the former superpower, and a visit to Grenna Museum, with the famous Andrée expedition in the exhibition, is almost a must if you are interested in history.
